Caffè Vergnano is a company with a long and prestigious history. Founded in 1882, when Domenico Vergnano, forefather of the present family, established his business opening a small grocery in the medieval city of Chieri situated at the foot of the hills surrounding Turin.The shop soon started to specialise in the roasting and sale of coffee, defining the Vergnano family's true vocation. A vocation nourished by courageous decisions, such as the purchase in the 30's of a coffee plantation in Kenya, while in Italy business grew rapidly with the establishment of the first three warehouses in Turin, Alba and Chieri.iln the meantime, the company had the capacity of transforming litself into one of the most reputable coffee producers in Italy: a uccess which gives its thanks to the continual search for quality, a uality much appreciated by the real coffee connoisseur that has recognised Caffè Vergnano for more than a century -In 1986 a significant accomplishment in the company's growth was recorded, through the merger with Casa del Caffè di Torino: the leader in quality for Piedmont in bar channels, which currently serves more than 2000 of the most important clients of the region. Today, with an 8000 square meters plant and 9 automated production lines, the company faces the future confidently, aiming at international development with its own chain of coffee-shops under the Caffè Vergnano 1882 brand name. There are already 18 shops located in Turin, Milan, Nice, Dusseldorf, London, Riga and Paris.
